OKTE, a.s. is not yet an EECS member but it is working hard to become one. The reason why OKTE joined AIB is to provide better service for the market of GOs in Slovakia and to ease the bureaucracy of handling the GOs in the Slovakian domain. OKTE is developing its own registry and it will be ready by the end of this year. That said, OKTE is planning to issue first Guarantees of origin from 1.1.2020. Also, OKTE will be handling the GOs from non-AIB member states and the whole process will be very similar to what was in place in Slovakia before 1.1.2020. GOs that will come from Non-AIB countries will be registered in a separate database so they will not enter to the AIB HUB. OKTE will also operate the auctions of GOs. Those GOs will be from renewable sources that have state incentive and the revenue from this will be used to lower the burden of the feed-in tariff for the whole energy sector.
